I had an extremely witty image (just trust me) I wanted to post with no additional context, but the publishing button was disabled until I typed some text.I don’t actually know whether the social media sites support this, but I know I’ve done it from the Twitter UI in the past.

Different networks may use different hashtags in terms of their popularity. One such example is Elixir hashtag - on Bluesky people use #ElixirLang whereas on other networks #MyElixirStatus is more popular.Because of this, it would be quite useful to define mappings, ie:<ul><li>Bsky: #Elixir → #ElixirLang</li><li>Mastodon and LinkedIn: #Elixir → #ElixirStatus</li></ul>

I think it could be nice to be able to configure somewhere a delay between publishing each post from a thread on any social network that supports this. For example: I would like maybe to have 1-2 seconds delay between publishing each post in a thread.This helps with: <ul><li>Makes the thread to stay longer in the feeds of people (no matter if they are a timeline or some other algorithm)</li><li>I think it helps a lot more with the timeline feeds: because in the timeline once a user misses a post if they follow many other people it is harder to rediscover it</li><li>Helps even with algorithmic feeds (like Twitter one or other algorithms from Bluesky) that takes into consideration the reactions/replies to a post</li></ul>

Unfortunately Bsky API doesn’t work with gifs OOTB - JCP needs to convert gifs to videos to make it work.

When scheduling a thread on socials, you’ll be able to snooze individual replies so that they will be published later than the initial post that starts a thread.This way you’ll be able to build up a thread over time instead of posting everything at once.

It is a common strategy among many people to write a valuable post and then post as the first comment a link to a blog or an external website.While Linkedin does not say they are penalizing links in posts, there are many people that tried to test Linkedin algorithm and found out that adding a first comment with the link works better than putting the link in the post. It could be that the act of publishing the first comment quicly is the one that pushes the posts up and not the link itself, but there is evidence that posting the first link is a good strategy on Linkedin. So I think it would be a benefit to have this feature.

In order to support publishing platforms that are not social media platforms, we need a way of creating articles with titles and content.An article would still be publishable on social media networks and you’ll be able to configure how exactly you want to have it published, possible options will be:<ul><li>Summary text + link to canonical resource (ie a URL to your blog with the article)</li><li>Split into a thread + link to canonical like above</li><li>Regular post in case of networks that allow large char limits (ie LinkedId or Mastodon instance with a big char limit)</li></ul>

Options will be:<ul><li>Paste as-is including it in the post content</li><li>Create a URL card and remove it for Bsky/LinkedIn</li></ul>This way it will become obvious what’s happening with URLs.

In addition to the manual scheduling where you select date/time using our Scheduling UI, there will be a new button sitting next to the calendar button that will say “Auto-schedule”. Once clicked, a calendar will pop up showing you slots where your post will be scheduled and a button to confirm this.This feature will be available only on the Pro plan, at least initially.

I got this message today when trying to post to X. Not questioning here the fact that there is a limit or what is the limit, but it's not clear to me from the interface whether the X post will be retried or when. What happens when the cross post to a given network fails like this? Will it be retried automatically later?

The post editors on most social networks allow you to paste images directly into the post-editor to attach them. This is handy if you have a screenshot on your clipboard that’s not actually saved to a file anywhere. It would be great if JCP supported this.

Is there any way to choose which connections to use by default when drafting a new post/thread? I want to sometimes post to LinkedIn, but most of the time I don’t want, so it’s annoying to have to deselect it every time.

Not sure if this is specifically when creating a scheduled post where it’s not synced across all platforms but I had an instance where I mentioned a user in a Bluesky post but the resulting post didn’t actually link it to that user. Maybe I’m missing the option, but I don’t see where I can change my credit card or view receipts/invoices. I need to do one of those things; I need to either provide the receipts to my accountant or switch this over to my personal credit card.

Subscription Management

When I write a post for multiple sites, I want it to appear as naturally as possible in each place.I try to use mentions when I can, since that’s the “native” thing to do.But when there is a mention that doesn’t correspond to an account on a site, it shows up as its plain text name with an “@” prefix. For example: “@Some Person”. This formatting, IMO, is entirely unnatural. I’d never personally author the text like that, so it discourages me from using mentions or JCP entirely.If that “@” was removed, then I think everything would be dandy. I can write the person’s proper name as the Profile Name, and that would appear naturally in the post text.Is this possible to do?You could also leave a bit of hint text underneath the “Profile Name” field to say that is what will appear when no mention is available.
